Popcorn Saturday I

This is a post where I start out a story then I tag two other people. These two people will then continue writing. Once done, they'll tag two more people. And those two people will continue writing then tag two more people and ...... you get the point. It goes on till it reaches the 16th person. The 16th person gets to finish the story. I guess it's kinda like a meme.
I remember doing this back in grade school and it was always interesting what the finished product looked like. It's also a great exercise to sharpen your writing skills. Hopefully, everyone will be willing to participate in this. You don't need to write more than 5sentences or something. and Add as many twists as you can.

I'll start. Link your blog to the list as your add to the story. Be sure to also change the text color as you add to the story. This way your addition will be yours and be copy righted. So no one can steal our work. I think you get what I'm trying to get at here.

Starry Night

Sam could not believe his eyes. He knew something was bound to happen once he'd opened the box but this was definitely unexpected. The rain didn't do much to claim his excitement either. As he looked down, he caught a dirty reflection of himself in the puddle that was accumulating at his feet........

Here's who I tag to continue where I left off.
Hope's Bookshelf
Books Make Great Lovers

Be sure to let the person know that you have tagged them. and also if you're the 16th person, please tag me. If you could tag everyone who worked on the story then that would be great too. I'm sure they'd also love to see how the story turned out too.

The Bookshelf Meme

I was tagged by Thao. So here goes. Sorry it took quite a while, I really had to think on this one.. hehe. Peaches also tagged me.

1. Tag 3-5 people, so the fun keeps going!
2. Leave a comment at the original post at A Striped Armchair, so that Eva can collect everyone’s answers.
3. If you leave a comment and link back to Eva as the meme’s creator, she will enter you in a book giveaway contest! She has a whole shelf devoted to giveaway books that you’ll be able to choose from, or a bookmooch point if you prefer.
4. Remember that this is all about enjoying books as physical objects, so feel free to describe the exact book you’re talking about, down to that warping from being dropped in the bath water…

The book that’s been on your shelves the longest

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling. I’ve had this one since the second grade? I’d actually gotten this one for my little brother. They had read it in class and he liked it soo much I got it for him. I tried reading it myself but I didn’t like it. It wasn’t until the third grade, after I’d condemned the book and begged my teacher not to read it to us, that I fell in love with the series. hehe

A book that reminds you of something specific in your life

Love, From Your Friend Hannah by Mindy Warshaw Skolsky. I got this book back in the fourth grade? And I believe it was mainly because my best friend’s name was Hannah. It turned out to be a really good nook and I loved the format. It was written in a series of letters shared between Hannah and her many pen pals.

A book you acquired in some interesting way

The Season by Sarah MacLean. I entered the contest over at Presenting Leonore for it but I didn't win. Then another post came up announcing a new winner. Sarah had decided to personally mail the first winner a copy of The Season. This allowed for Leonore to pick another winner, and it was ME. I was super excited cause, well, who would have ever thought.

The most recent addition to your shelves

Hot Girl by Dream Jordan. I got this one from YA Books Central for submitting 15 book reviews. Yay me.

A book that’s been with you to the most places

I really don’t know. I take a book with me like every trip we go on, because I hardly ever sleep during those long rides. I can’t think of one that I’ve started over and over again, never finished, but am still determined to read one of these days. But like I took Breaking Dawn with me everywhere when I fist got it till I finished it, which was like 2months if that counts.

A bonus book(s) that you want to talk about but doesn’t fit into the other questions

Oh. My. Gods. by Tera Lynn Childs, and Revenge of the Homecoming Queen and Twisted Sisters by Stephanie Hale. I think these were the very first books I got through an online contest. It was at Tera Lynn Childs' blog during her Oplympic Contest thingy. I was super excited and went around telling everyone at home. They probably thought I was crazy. hehe But I didn't care, I'd just gotten THREE new books.

Now on to the tagging. Have fun with this!
