This week, we're suppose to give a list, of no more than 10books, of our favorite reads, from 2008 that were published in 2008. To tell you the truth, I can't really think of any books i read this year that was published this year. I'm not really one to go out and get the book right when it comes out. There's always books that have been out and that are cheaper, that i have yet to read. There's only one book I can think of right now and it's so cliche that I'm more than sure we all know what I'm talking about. Yep, that's right, Breaking Dawn, but once[more like if] I remember some more books, I'll update this post.

But for those of you, like me, who some times suffer from delayed reactions [which are different from blonde moments =] then here's a brief explanation. During those 24hours, you spend your time reading and/or blogging. What do you read? As many books [pages, for those of us slower readers] as you possibly can AND the blogs of all the other participants. What do you blog about? Everything. You give an update of how far you're coming along with you're reading, book reviews[if you get done with a book], and comments, to incourage all the other readers. If you don't feel like you can take up all that reading, but still what to participate somehow, well there's something you can do to. Be come a Read-A-Thon CHEERLEADER! You go around leaving words of encouragement on the reader's blogs. By doing this, you let them know that you care and are right there with them, every step of the way. You can also host mini-challengers for the readers, you know, somethiing to keep them busy for a while when they take a break from buring those pages up. See, it's that simple? Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
We've been reading Thirteen Reasons Why as a class and so far it's been really good. I like its story line and the context. Jay really lets you get inside Hannah's head. For those of you whom haven't head of Thirteen Reasons Why, here's an insight courtesy of "BookList" from Amazon.
"...When Clay Jenson plays the cassette tapes he received in a mysterious package, he's surprised to hear the voice of dead classmate Hannah Baker. He's one of 13 people who receive Hannah's story, which details the circumstances that led to her suicide. Revenge of the Homecoming Queen by Stephenie Hale
Like I mentioned in the earlier post, I have finished reading Revenge of the Homecoming Queen. Soon enough i will indulge myself in the sequel, Twisted Sisters. So as you await my review, here's an insight from the back cover.

Playing It Cool by Joaquin Dorman
Upon finishing Revenge of the Homecoming Queen, I was set to begin Playing It Cool. Unfortunately, after completing the first chapter, it was not to my likimg. I don't know why but i just didn't show much, if any interest at all, in it. But that doesn't mean you won't. Here's an insight coutersy of "From School Library Journal" from Amazon

Size 12 Is Not Fat by Meg Cabot
Since I was unable to get into Playing It Cool, I figured it was time I payed my library a visit. Size 12 Is Not Fat is what caught my eye. Well really it was because it was written by Meg Cabot, a killer author, and also because it had a funky title matched up with an interesting cover. Currently i'm on page 54 and so far, soo sooo sooo good. I love it. Here's an official insight from the back cover.

WOAH. That took a while, longer than i expected. I think i would have been better off just updating my sidebar, but that's alright. This was a better idea anyways.

when was the last time i reviewed a book? wasn't this all about reviewing books? well i'm sorry, i've been pretty busy with this and that and have had a hard time finding time to read. but thankfully, i finished Revenge of the Homecoming Queen today so in the coming week...or two, i should hopefully have a review up.
well i guess today is the last day to post up a quote. well yesterday really was, since it was number 7 [which is says i posted on the 15, i don't know why] but i thought since i'd had such a good time doing this, i'd do a bonus quote. wow, i've been kinda so busy this week that i wasn't able to fully participate in BBAW. doesn't that suck? well i just spent the last hour or so entering contest upon contest on myfriendamy's blog. i hope i wasn't too late, seeing as today is the last day. i think i barely made it though. *crossing fingers* now i'm off to do my daily exercise, running a mile. [i gotta keep in shape for track, i'm soo excited!!!]

why did i choose this quote?
there has been a lot of talk lately about the end of the world and it scares me to death. actually, any talk to death/dieing scares the living daylights out of me. anyone else feel that way? if yes, why do we feel that way? shouldn't we be happier instead, cause like Benjamin says, the sooner we die, the better off we are. are we scared because we're not 100percent sure we're going to Heaven or because we're selfish and can't really stand the thought of dying? well for me, it's a litte of both, but more of the selfish part. but i can't help it, there's soo much stuff i want to do before i expire and i just live living on earth, since its the only place i've ever lived on. is that such a bad thing? that i don't want to leave what i now know as home? i dunno, but i'd rather not think about it. i try to avoid all talk to death untill i have to deal with it, but today, as you can see, i made an exception. but all in all, i have to AGREE with Benjamin Franklin on this one.

i just updated my blog. as you can see, i added a current contest thingy and i know have THREE COLUMNS! Yay me. lol. it took me a while to find the right place with the right instructions and everything but i did it and i think my blog looks better. don't you agree? so i'm super proud of myself. but anyways, for those who are having trouble, like i did, finding the right website with the right codes for another sidebar, click here. their instructions are really easy to follow, even if you're not an HTML wiz. actually the website has like everything you need for blogger. i'll be going there more often. it's a great help, especially for us new bloggers...hehe

mainly because it ties it with the "sister" quote, "easier said than done." i guess whoever said that one kinda borrowed the idea from my buddy Benjamin Franklin, but that's just my opinion. i figured a well done steak would easily depict this quote. doesn't that look delicious? i'm getting hungry all over again. i better head over to Free Rice before i start not "eating to live but living to eat." hehe

I had youth group today so i figured this kinda tied in with my day and i just so happen to like it. this picture really goes with the quote cause one, his eyes are shut, two he's old, which means he's "wise" and probably reasons better than a lot of us, and three, he just looks like a faithful man to me, so he easily illustrates this quote. =)

Why did i pick this quote?
cause it was said by Benjamin Franklin, duh. haven't you noticed the theme by now? but really though. i picked this quote cause i know there are people out there, other than me, who just love to eat. it's like a second hobby. this quote is unfortunately not giving a shout out to us food lovers, it's actually trying to teach us a lesson. i know, i know, school's over and I'm not your mom so i shouldn't be lecturing, especially this late in the day, but its kinda too late to stop me. food is a need not a want and we shouldn't abuse that need cause, there are people out there who don't have food in excess like we do. and i know we have it in excess cause with all that food we throw away at lunch, we could probably feed a whole starving village. that's how much of a food waster we are. we need to learn to eat the right portion and all that good junk. now that I'm done lecturing, you can see that it really wasn't that bad or even a lecture..lol..
but[oh yes! there's always a but] what you can do to help those starving people is visit this website, free rice. with ever so many words you get right, 20grains of rice is donated to the needy. not only are you giving to the needy and playing a fun game, but you're also exercising your brain and learning some new words. and it's soo cool now cause if you're not an english person[me] but a math geek, like me, you can change the subject to better suite you. just go to the website, it explaing everything better than i do and before you know it, you'll be hooked like a fish on a fishing pole..hehe.
boy am i slacking, i guess i am in desperate need of a book review. well i just finished Revenge of the Homecoming Queen so HOPEFULLY, i'll have it's reveiw up in a week....or two. i told you, i'm slow..lol

i kinda felt unappriciated earlier to day so i guess this one totally fits into my day. lol. but this is a good one cause we need to learn to not take advantage of what we have. we need to give thanks more to everyone, especially for the litte things in life. because, it is the litte things that make the world go round.
It took me a while to decide on what i wanted today's quote to be but after much thought and consideration, i'm ganna have to go with this one. and it's kinda long so brace yourself.

I entered to be one of the participants in Dewey's Weekly Geeks event, Thanks to Fizzy Thoughts, i was introduced to Weekly Geeks from her blog, just thought I'd throw that in there =) So i guess that makes me a weekly geek, well at least for the moment. hehe. This week's activity is "A Quote A Day," [notice my quotation marks] It's and interesting activity and sounds like fun so i was like, why don't i try it, and well here i am, posting my first quote.

well it seems like its that time of the year when everyone gets sick. it's like a chain reaction, first its just one person that's doing the coughing, then another, and another, then only about 19 out of 30 kids show up to class the next day. it spreads faster than gossip, i mean it's that bad. no one likes being sick or going to the doctors office so why risk getting sick and going to that germ infested place[you could probably GET sick or MORE sick by just going there] So you know what i did today, i went out and bought some apples, 2bags to be exact, and you know what, you should too.
wow, this is just wayyy too confusing for me, I'm practically on the verge of giving up, but quitters never win and I'm not one to quit so i guess I'll just suck it up and do my best. what exactly am i talking about, you might be wondering? well, it's this whole book reviewing, blogging, blogger bussiness. i pretty much have no clue what i'm doing or what exactly i'm suppose to do but, i wont quit, not yet anyways..lol.. but seriously i'm having some trouble here. on the UP SIDE, i've figured out a few things and nick nacks here and there. all by myself so that's definately self-rewarding. this is soooo much harder than i thought it would be. i don't know how all you experts do it but if no one has ever congratulated you, let me be the first. CONGRATULATIONS. eventually, i'll be right there beside you and one of these days, a new blogger will be congratulationg me, i hope.. lol. untill then, i will keep myself doing what i'm currently doing which is [DRUM ROLL PLEASE] reviewing books(even though it takes me like a week for just one book) adding other interesting blogs to my "freinds list" (and hoping that they add me to theirs--hint...hint..), and well ENTERING AS MANY CONTESTS AS POSSIBLE. (cause you know i can and that is what i do best.) and writing random useless blog entries like this one. (well actually i don't know if i'll be able to do this again, since its more like a one time thing, but a girl can hope right?)
and to top things off, i just got told that i look exactly like my sister. she went off to college this yr and we were very close so i'm so sad that she's gone, but anyways, that's a bad thing cause it makes me look like some stalker freak person. especially since i'm wearing her shorts, her shirt, and my hair the way she usually does. you have to agree, that is kinda weird. but it was not planned, I PROMISE. lol. i do miss her though. A LOT.
but yea, this was totally randon and outta the blue...i like the color blue..lol

She’s been hit on by her obnoxious seatmate, downed more vodka than ever, and even been saved by prince charming, better yet, Princeton Hottie, Ben Birbaum. With no time to waste, Anna and Ben quickly become acquaintances, such good ones that Ben feels entitled to invite her to Jackson Sharpe’s wedding, and an invite Anna could only accept.
With no less than twenty four hours spent in LA, Anna has done a lot more than she got herself ready for, as she suddenly finds her life being entangled with Ben, his friends, and most importantly, the A-List. She thought all she had to worry about was the A-List, Cammie, Sam, and Dee, the “it” girls but when a night with Ben goes wrong, Anna has a change or heart.
Zoey Dean really gives you an insight on what’s going on in the book and its characters, as she jumps from one character to the next. You really get an understanding of what’s going on and you feel yourself becoming one with the book. None of your questions go unanswered, well at least not until you finish the book that is. The A-List: A Novel wasn’t the first book I’d picked from the shelf, if I judged a book by its cover. Lucky for me, I don’t, or I would have missed out on a really good book.
I would definitely recommend to fans of the It Girl, Gossip Girl, Clique, and Pretty Little Liars series, put together, they would all make one happy little family. I’ll be sure to look into the other books in this series.
