Hey I'm Ashley, and my life revolves around 4 things: God, music, smiling, and BOOKS! I'm 16 years old, and when I'm not busy drowning in schoolwork, you'll find me flipping through the pages of a great (or not so great) novel. I'm dedicated to my blog that centers around anything bookish for pure enjoyment and some recommended books.

What drew you into the book blogging world?
I remember one day in April '09 I came across The Story Siren's page as I was Googling books, and thought "Wow, that's such a neat idea! I wish I could make one, too." And from there, Books Obsession was born!

What's your favorite part about book blogging?
Sharing my passion for reading! So many of my friends don't like to, and so I have no one to share my book love with..*tear*. But through my blog, I can share my favorite books and I now know soo much more that's going on in the literary world that I would have never known before I started. I also love getting books in the mail, especially unexpected ones! It makes me excited each and every time.
I know the feeling!

Who's your favorite author?
Sarah Dessen. I love every single freakin' awesome book she's written for young adults! Her realistic approach at writing is so believable and she always has the best characters. As for my favorite series? The Hunger Games, all the way!

What kind of fiction are you into? or are you a nonfiction reader?
Definitely a realistic fiction reader, along with most fantasy books too. But I mainly just read young adult since I can relate to it and understand it better than adult books. I'm NOT a fan of nonfiction books, though. I only read those when I have to for school. :P

If you could change your name what would you go by?
Hmm interesting question. I've always liked the name Audrey, but something kind of exotic and unique would be acceptable too! Ooh I know...Katniss. Katniss Everdeen. ;]

IF you could have an AWESOME super power what would it be?
I have always wanted a remote control for my life kind of like the one in the movie "Click". It would be amazing to be able to pause time [I'd have so much more free time and reading time!] and fastforward through boring lectures at school. And of course be able to hit the record button during the best parts of my life, to relive later. I guess this isn't a super power, but it sure is super, haha.

What is your guilty pleasure?
I really hate those girly-cliquey books about rich and popular girls, to me they're all the same and lack substance. However this year I grew to really enjoy the "Pretty Little Liars" novels, like a whole lot! But haven't gotten around to telling my friends yet hah. Hmm what else? Oh I know. Disney Channel Movies. Yeah, they never grow old and I secretly looove watching them.

Why should I visit your blog?
Well not to sound conceited and all that, but I think my blog is enjoyable for others to read and has a lot of variety to it! I frequently write reviews of books, post almost daily, and have fun weekly memes. I also hold a lot of contests (like my http://booksobsession.blogspot.com/2010/01/new-years-extravaganza.html">current one which is huge!)
